Signs and symptoms of IgA Nephropathy appear, when your kidney function declines, such as:
- cola-colored urine or Blood in Urine
- foamy urine or protein in urine
- back pain, side pain, flank pain
- high blood pressure
- swelling in your hands, feet or ankles
- fatigue
- emotional changes
- repeated urinary tract infections
The complications of IgA Nephropathy differs from person to person. With the kidney damages complications, many patients may develop one or more of the following complications.
- Kidney Failure. If your kidneys lose their filtering ability because of IgA complex deposits, waste products will build up in the blood, causing failed kidneys eventually.
- High Blood Pressure. Kidneys can help regulate the blood pressure within normal levels. Chronic IgA Nephropathy can cause high blood pressure which can worsen the damaged kidneys in return.
- Nephrotic Syndrome. Nephrotic syndrome refers to a group of symptoms caused by damaged glomeruli, including high urine protein level, low blood protein levels, high cholesterol and lipids levels, as well as edema in your feet, hands, eyelids, ankles etc.
If patients can receive the treatments that can help improve the filtering ability of glomeruli, such as Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy or Immunotherapy, they can expect to prevent the possible complications of IgA Nephropathy.
